House Republicans approved a $95 billion budget resolution to advance funding tied to the Iran war, farm aid, and voting-related grants. The blueprint allocates up to $60 billion for defense and $13 billion for intelligence, which together are intended to cover Iran war costs. It also sets aside $12 billion for agricultural assistance, aimed at helping farmers affected by higher costs linked to the conflict and related market pressures. An additional $10 billion is reserved for election-related measures connected to the SAVE America Act, including voter ID and citizenship verification provisions.

Defense and Intelligence Funding Focus

The resolution directs the largest share of new resources toward military and intelligence accounts. These amounts are described in the blueprint as covering costs associated with the Iran conflict. The plan does not include offsets to pay for the new spending, leaving the full amount to be added to the federal ledger.

Agricultural Assistance Component

A separate $12 billion portion targets agricultural assistance. This section of the blueprint is framed as support for farmers facing higher costs from conflict-related market pressures. In Iowa, where agriculture remains a central part of the economy, such assistance would address elevated input expenses that have affected producers statewide.

Election Measures and Passage Details

The remaining $10 billion is reserved for election-related measures tied to the SAVE America Act. Provisions in this category include voter ID and citizenship verification steps. The House passed the overall resolution on a 216-214 vote.

Because the measure carries no pay-for provisions, the new spending would increase the deficit by the full amount approved. The blueprint now moves forward for further consideration in the legislative process.
